Coca

You smoke Shisha in Egypt and Weed in Amsterdam, but in Peru you drink and chew Coca.
Especially in the Andes upon 4.000 meter it is certain to eat Coca, because of the mountain sickness. And it really worked there.
I brought some Mate de Coca back to Germany but it hasn’t any effect, maybe a little bit adrenalised, like Coffee or so.

Here are some photos from the Coca field and Coca chewing. We even helped them with the Coca crop. :)

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu was a truly amazing experience which should nobody miss in Peru. Unfortunately we didn't take the Inka trail, because of our time. But the railway to Machu Picchu was a great experience itself. Backpackers from all over the world and everybody had one mission, Machu Picchu! After a whole week without any tourist this was definitely different but a felicitous change.

Peruvian Adventures

I’ve never been to Latin America, so I was very excited to go there.
We landed in Lima and everything looked just like my conceivability from a big city in South America. I didn’t know if I will like the city or not. But we hadn’t enough time to find it out, because we flew to Cusco the next day. I was sure about loving Cusco since we landed there. Wow such a nice city framed from the Andes, with beautiful buildings from the Inka times and the weather was at all times great.
Unfortunately we had to traverse the roads to go further up to the fantastic Andes. We spent almost one week there, mostly in little villages and were living with the Campesinos. But you can say we discovered the culture there. It is a really hard life, living in 4.000 meter with no energy and sometimes no water. It is a completely different life and the people there were all so nice to us. Luckily they mostly cooked for us, because there wasn’t a store or restaurant. The food was needs getting used to and I probably won’t have potatoes for the rest of my life. But we survived!!!
After that week we went to the touristy part of Cusco area, Machu Picchu. Wow this is a really amazing place. Cannot say something else, I am still impressed!
Then we finally ended up in Cusco again and enjoyed the city life for the rest of the second week. After staying in Lima for two days we flew back home with lots of new impression and experiences.

Anyway, enjoy a choice of my pics, we definitely did a lot. And I will post about certain thoughts and issues later.

Update

I’m back for good in Germany. Wow Peru was great but I have to clear my mind first from all the different experiences, before writing about it and I have to upload all the pics, which surely will take some time.
Besides that I had a wonderful weekend with all my college pals. Since our graduation from college for two years, we at least go on a fun weekend trip once in a year. We had a blast and just a good time as always when we all come together. Thanks everybody who joined and made the weekend awesome!
Today is the farewell party from my sister. She will go to Australia for one year and I already miss her like crazy. But I'm excited for her, I mean Australia, my long life dream! I’ve never been to Aussi-land, so I have to safe money to visit her. I guess I spent and will spend all my money on flight tickets, but anyway you just live once and what is better than spending every Euro on discovering the world. :)

Ok, that’s my life so far. Be ready for some cool pics and stories from Peru.
